When to Change Nothing

Why patience is a valid strategy and how to avoid panic pivots after slow weeks.

When to Change Nothing

Not every flat month means your strategy failed. Sometimes it means compounding has not started or seasonality hit.

Stay the course when

  • You hit weekly rhythm 75%+ of weeks
  • Inbound conversations trickle but grow month over month
  • Saves/shares climb even if likes flat
  • You are only in month 2–3 on platform
  • You changed bio or offer recently (give 6 weeks)

Change when (evidence-based)

Zero right-person DMs 90 daysPersona, platform, or CTA wrong
High clicks, zero conversionsFix landing page
Engagement only from peersContent too insider
Burnout affecting healthCut volume, not sleep

The panic pivot

Symptoms:
  • New platform every month
  • Rebrand because post got 12 likes
  • Trend-chasing unrelated to pillars
  • Apology posts for being "inactive"
Antidote: one-month content freeze on changes; only maintain rhythm.

Compounding timelines (rough)

Platform
Patience window
LinkedIn B2B3–6 months
Instagram local2–4 months
YouTube6–12 months
TikTokFaster spikes, still needs consistency
XNetwork-dependent

Document "do not change" list

Example:
Until September: - Primary platform: LinkedIn - Pillars: checkout, proof, process - 2 posts/week - No new video format
Put in calendar description.

Useful phrase

"We do not have a data problem yet — we have a consistency problem."
Or opposite — if consistency is fine and data is dead, then experiment. Return to Feedback Loops when ready to iterate deliberately.
